IDENTITÉ – pas ethnique, sexuelle, religieuse, communautaire, zonale ou n’importe quelle autre mais une identité  URBAINE, une identité créée par la société urbaine, qui nous détermine, une identité donnée par la monochromie colorée de chaque jour et chaque nuit dans les villes où nous naissons, nous grandissons, nous vivons et travaillons, une identité empruntée, impersonnelle, non-personnelle. Une identité non identifiable, imprimée par chaque détail de la vie urbaine (du quartier de blocs, magasins, supermarché, le mél jusqu’ à la politique et la culture de la ville) par ses moyens caractéristiques de comportement et communication.

IDENTITY – not ethnic, sexual, religious, communitary, zonal or any other sort but, an URBAN ONE, an identity created by urban society, which determines us, an identity given by the coloured monochrome of every day and every night in cities where we are born, wegrow up, we live and work, a barrowed identity, impersonal and non-personal. Un unidentifiable identity, imprinted by every detail of the urban life from the residential district with its blocks, shops, supermarket and mall to the politics and culture of the city evidenced by its characteristic means of behaviour and communication. URBAN TRACES is both a record and a photo of identity in the urban environment with all that it implies, with the determination of a false understanding of identity submitted to taboos of thinking and behaving.

MOnuMENTS este un proiect artistic, propunand totodata o reflectie culturala si sociala; MOnuMENTS descompune si cartografieaza harta monumentelor de for public din Romania in mai multe parti, propunand totodata un dialog intre spatii rurale si urbane, intre mentalitati din diferite colturi ale tarii, intre present si trecut. MOnuMENTS prezinta pe de o parte momentul cand Monumentul respectiv a fost inaugurat precum si momentul in care cand noi l-am documentat fotografic.  MOnuMENTS a aparut din nevoia noastra de a explora si asimila istoria proprie prin prisma acestor insemne statice.

MOnuMENTS are si o latura educativa. Fiecare Monument important a generat discutii aprinse in epoca ridicarii sale.  Fotografiind  monumentele le-am clasificat in functie de epoca, modelaj, zona. Am observat ca simbolul care troneaza pe soclu defineste si perioada precum si destinatarul. Vulturul (simbol specific al Romaniei) si ostasul din perioada lui Carol sau Ferdinand s-au transformat in figurile reprezentative ale regimului comunist: ostasul sovietic si ostasul roman, Mircea, Stefan cel Mare, Mihai Viteazu, taranul, minerul sau muncitorul. Dupa revolutie monumentele publice au fost contestate iar in jurul lor s-au iscat numeroase controverse. De obicei s-a contestat autorul, subiectul si tehnica de executie, de catre specialisti. Un monument extrem de controversat a fost si este inca “Monumentul pentru Cinstirea Eroilor Revoluţiei din Decembrie 1989” din Piata Revolutiei, Bucuresti.

MOnuMENTS reprezinta un raspuns firesc, organic al artistilor la aceste mutatii si reconfigurari. Rezultatul imediat il reprezinta documentarea diversitatii ca mixtura intre dezvoltarea urbana si cea rurala, intre gesturi culturale si gesturi individuale sau colective. 

Deschidem proiectul MonuMENTS cu primul traseu care va documenta monumente aflate pe ruta Constanta – Bucuresti. Actiunea – performance incepe la ora 10.00 si se termina la 18.00. In majoritatea cazurilor monumentele de pe parcursul acestui traseu comemoreaza eroii din cele doua razboaie mondiale sau  diferite personalitati istorice reprezentative pentru spatiul romanesc. Actiunea consta in depunerea unui buchet de flori si respectarea unui MOMENT de reculegere in memoria celor care au realizat MONUMENTELE (sculptori, arhitecti, comanditari, sponsori, alti membrii ai comunitatii respective etc.).

Incepand in Constanta, traseul va continua prin Murflatar, Castelu, Cernavoda, Fetesti, Dragos Voda, Dor Marunt,Lehliu, Stefanesti, Tamadan, Branesti, Pantelimon, punctual final fiind in Bucuresti in piata Valter Maracineanu. Documentarea va fi realizata de Alexandru Bounegru.

Opening of the RESOURCES CENTRE OF BANLIEUES D’EUROPE

Banlieues d’Europe has been collecting information and documents for the last twenty years. This documentary base, rich and specific, will be inaugurated at 6 pm on Monday 25 May 2009 on the occasion of the 9th Monday rendezvous. An example of bibliographic research will be presented, as well as a keyword search system. The Banlieues d’Europe Resources Centre is in particular addressed to artists, actors in the cultural and social field, and university researchers, but also to officials of public policies and local councilors at local, national European level, and also to any curious and interested person.

The collection consists of around 3000 documents (books, guides, annuals, reports, press communiqués, websites, flyers, programmes, magazines, CDs, DVDs) in different languages. These supports present innovative and participative artistic experiences and projects, coming from « working class » areas and implicating communities in different European countries, and also numerous analytical works.

Ouverture du CENTRE DE RESSOURCES DE BANLIEUES D’EUROPE

 Banlieues d’Europe rassemble des informations et des documents depuis une vingtaine d’années. Ce fonds documentaire, riche et spécifique, sera inauguré le lundi 25 mai 2009 à 18h à l’occasion du 9ème rendez-vous du lundi. Un exemple de recherche bibliographique sera présenté ainsi qu’un outil de veille documentaire. Le Centre de ressources de Banlieues d’Europe s’adresse en particulier aux artistes, aux acteurs de terrain des milieux culturels et sociaux, aux chercheurs universitaires, mais également aux responsables de politiques publiques, aux élus, au niveau local, national, européen, ou à toute personne curieuse et intéressée.

Le fonds rassemble environ 3000 documents (livres, guides, annuaires, rapports, dossiers de presse, sites Internet, flyers, programmes, périodiques, CDs, DVDs) dans différentes langues. Ces supports présentent des expériences et des projets artistiques innovants et participatifs nés dans des périphéries et impliquant les populations dans différents pays européens, mais aussi de nombreux travaux d’analyse.

THE INVISIBLE TOWN: 9th Banlieues d’Europe Rendez-vous – Monday 25 May/LYON

At 6 pm on Monday 25 May 2009, Banlieues d’Europe invites you to celebrate the opening of the Resources Centre, and at the same time it will be holding its 9th Monday rendezvous on the theme of the Invisible Town. This rendezvous is also in line with the 16th Banlieues d’Europe Meeting to be held on 26 and 27 June 2009 at the French Institute in Prague on the theme of « Creativity and Innovation in European Towns, 20 Years After the Fall of Iron Curtain. ».

This meeting will bring together two actors who carry out projects in Eastern Europe: Silvia Cazacu, Director of Banlieues d’Europ’Est, who develops identification work, setting up of networks and the valorization of innovative artistic experiences in Romania and in other East European countries. The Ateliers d’Image, under the impetus of Erick Gudimard, have since 2001 been running the Creation Workshop « The Invisible Town » that works on the representation of territories in Marseille. Through photographs, sound or video, it suggests different ways of living and working in the town. The origin of this workshop was an experience carried out in Prague a few years ago. Faced with urban mutations, in the West as well as the East of Europe, can one have a diversified approach to the town?

Lundi 25 mai 2009 à 18 heures, Banlieues d’Europe vous invite à fêter l’ouverture de son centre de ressources et propose son neuvième rendez-vous autour du thème de La Ville Invisible.  Ce rendez-vous s’inscrit dans la perspective des 16èmes rencontres de Banlieues d’Europe organisées les 26 et 27 juin 2009 à l’Institut Français de Prague sur le thème : « Créativité et innovation dans les villes européennes, 20 ans après la chute du rideau de fer. »

Il réunit deux acteurs qui mènent des projets à l’est de l’Europe : Silvia Cazacu, directrice de Banlieues d’Europ’est (Bucarest, Roumanie) et Erick Gudimard, directeur des Ateliers de l’Image (Marseille, France). En 2004 à Bucarest, Silvia Cazacu crée Banlieues d’Europ’est : elle développe un travail de repérage, de mise en réseau et de valorisation d’expériences artistiques innovantes en Roumanie et dans d’autres pays est-européens. Les Ateliers de l’Image, sous l’impulsion d’Erick Gudimard, proposent depuis 2001 l’atelier de création « la Ville Invisible » qui travaille sur la représentation des territoires à Marseille. Il s’agit à travers la photo, le son ou la vidéo de proposer différentes manières d’être dans la ville. A l’origine de cet atelier : une expérience menée à Prague il y a quelques années. Comment, face aux mutations urbaines, à l’ouest comme à l’est de l’Europe, peut-on avoir une approche diversifiée de la Ville ?

proiect desfasurat in cadrul programului « Carte blanche aux jeunes createurs » sustinut financiar si logistic de Centrul Cultural Francez Iasi in parteneriat cu « studioul de practici si dezbateri artistice » al Facultatii de Arte Plastice, Decorative si Design, Iasi

Instalatia prezinta o atitudine critica si ironica fata de recentele discutii cu privire la introducerea unor noi « masuri de siguranta » a cetatenilor, masuri care ar impune modificarea actelor de identitate in urma colectarii cat mai multor date personale, de la diversificarea imaginilor faciale si obligativitatea impresiunilor digitale pana la solicitarea scanarii retinale si posibilitatea introducerii cipului electronic subcutanat.

Termenul de « colectie » este folosit aici in sens peiorativ, referindu-se atat la semnalarea unui comportament achizitiv si de luare in proprietate a libertatilor individuale de catre formele de guvernamentalitate, cat si la critica institutionala, specifica practicii artistice, indreptata impotriva folosirii pin colectare a artei de catre marile corporatii pentru a-si legitima si intari prestigiul si puterea de a se impune prin controlul pietii.

Annual conference of the European independant centers network – Trans Europe Halles. Meetings of TEH network takes place once in a half-year, each in a different place. The 67th meeting with topic Memory Kontrol/Story-Telling will be hosted by Stanica Zilina-Zariecie and will be focused on art projects working with the memory.

La conférence annuelle du réseau européen de centres culturels indépendants – Trans Europe Halles. Les réunions du réseau ont lieu une fois par semestre, chacun dans un endroit différent. La soixante-septième réunion avec le sujet « Memory Kontrol/Story-Telling » sera accueillie par Stanica Zilina-Zariecie et sera concentrée sur les projets artistiques travaillant sur la mémoire.

Futur en Seine is a pioneering Cultural, Technological and Social Event organized by Cap Digital, the Parisian Business Cluster for Digital Content and Services, from 29th May to 7th June in the city of Paris and surrounding region.

Over the ten days of the Festival, Futur en Seine aims:

• To create a “live showcase” for the innovative content and technologies of Parisian small business and research labs who are building an exciting new Digital City of the Future
• To create the international event of reference for the Digital City of the Future, allowing the top creative cities from Europe and beyond to showcase their best and most innovative visions and prototypes, whilst engaging in conferences and discussions relating to the impact of digital innovation in the city.
• To reach out to the “grass-roots” general public, whether Parisians or visitors and regardless of their experience or knowledge of digital technology, to generate public inclusion, discussion and participation regarding the nature and role of digital applications in the future everyday urban environment.

Futur en Seine will address many of the critical issues regarding the digital future of the city: mobility, urban interaction and social networking, urban architectural design, digital solutions for sustainable development, digital business solutions, open source software, digital publishing, tele-presence, new digital applications for tourism, digital art and graphics etc.

Futur en Seine, avec le soutien de la Région Ile-de-France et de la Ville de Paris, est la première édition d’une manifestation qui se veut festive et prospective, et qui a vocation à devenir la biennale du numérique en Ile-de-France. La région capitale est à la pointe de l’innovation en matière de nouvelles technologies de l’information et de la communication, les NTIC. Première en terme de bassin d’emploi au niveau européen, avec près de 15.000 chercheurs et 150.000 personnes travaillant dans l’animation, les jeux vidéo, l’audioguidage ou la robotique, les contenus pour le Web, la géolocalisation, la Région n’avait pas encore de manifestation d’ampleur qui fédère tous ces talents, initiatives privées et publiques, industrielles et universitaires, culturelles et sociales.

Comment donner une vision d’ensemble de ce tissu dynamique et vivant ? Comment habiter ensemble à l’heure des réseaux ? Pour expérimenter la ville et le numérique, confronter les points de vue et mettre en scène ces nouvelles pratiques géolocalisées, la Région Ile-de-France et la Ville de Paris ont imaginé que la meilleure façon d’assembler ces briques logicielles pour faire fonctionner l’opérateur système de la ville était d’en proposer une grande fête, façon exposition universelle.
