The festival « Art that has been through a lot » is a large-scale cultural project whose aim is to introduce to Polish audience the art of the former Eastern Bloc – bound together by similar social and political experiences, but also separate and heading in different directions. Our aim is to outline individual tendencies in art after 1989.
The theme of « Art that has been through a lot » will become a pretext to face subjects concerning the time of transformation – political, social, ideological. The aim of their projects will not be to criticise the past – rather to talk about one’s place on earth, individual choices and the mark left by the conditions in which art is cultivated.
